The Detroit News is Saying Leyland Will Be the Manager in 2009

Peeking in through the fence.

Well, it happened. The Tigers buried themselves in last place last night. I have to let you in on a secret, I wasn't in Detroit to watch the Tigers, I was working with the Fords on a revitalization project with their hobby, the Detroit Lions. I suggested that they listen to all the fans (all the fans? the few who were there?) next door at Comerica Park chanting (yelling?) FIRE MILLEN!!! It finally happened. Mr. Ford saw the light. Maybe it was at the end of a tunnel, I'm not sure. But he woke up. Actually, he has been in a drunken stupor for eight years and suddenly "woke up" last night. He looked at Bill Jr. and said, "I hired who?"

The game was fun. Mom, Dad, Uncle John, and Amber went down with me. The Tigers played terribly. It was the most pitiful sickening performance I have ever watched live. They will not win another game this year. 71–90 seems reasonable for a team expected to win 105 games and a Pennant.

That was the first time my dad and I went to Tiger Stadium in a long, long time. Probably the '80s! It looks a lot different today than it did back then.

Personally, I just love the place. I'm reading a book, though, that suggests leaving things behind and keeping memories. Sure, it would have been cool to grab a brick or two and say they were from Tiger Stadium, but in the big scheme of things, "Nah!"
