Historically Speaking

The Tigers are currently 46–31, which is not too bad of a record. Considering, of course, that in 2003, the team won a total of 43 games. I like to keep reminding myself of that fact once in a while. On this date (corresponding) in 2003, the Tigers lost for the seventh time in a row (the streak would reach nine). The team that beat them was the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Tigers record at the time was a lowly 18–59.

Hey, am I the only one who doesn't remember Kevin Witt? He appeared in 93 games in '03!

On a better note, the '06 Tigers were 55–25 after beating the Pittsburgh Pirates on this date.

Wow! All in the same decade!!!
