Jimmy Speaks
"For one of the very few times this year, he totally lost it. He'll disagree with this, but in my opinion, he totally lost his composure. When he blew Travis Hafner away (with a 100 mph fastball), he got carried away. "He was pitching very well, using all his pitches, then threw 26 fastballs in 29 pitches and got the stuffing knocked out of him. He quit pitching and started throwing, in my opinion. "I'm not mad at him at all, but I disagree with him totally that he didn't lose his composure. That's my opinion and I'm going to stick with it. Up here, you can't just go out there and throw it. "He has three good pitches, three weapons. He has to use them. Sometimes his great arm works to his failure. He fell into the trap, when he got into a tough spot, of thinking harder was better. "Hopefully, it's a great lesson." - Mr. Jim Leyland, speaking about rookie pitcher Justin Verlander
