The End of the Year (And the Beginning of Summer)

GRADUATION LEADS TO SUMMER

It's a busy week.

It's graduation season.

It's season finale time on TV.

Oh, there's so much going on.

It's time for the kids to put up their Number 2 pencils for three months and recover from a hard year of learning. It's also time for teachers to refresh and recharge for the upcoming school year. And September will be here before you know it.

And when school starts again.

It's another busy week.

It's time for school open houses.

It's season premier time. We'll find out what's going on with Red and the crew on the Blacklist.

And once again — there will be so much going on …

But first let's enjoy some burgers and the warmth of the summer. Nothing matches fresh burger cooked on a hot grill in the summertime. A cheeseburger in paradise. All beef patties, special sauce, lettuce cheese … all on a sesame seed bun.

Summer also means Harbor Days in Elk Rapids. We've enjoyed Harbor Days for so many years I've almost forgot. Harbor Days has been celebrated forever. It's the first Saturday in August and usually has been for years. It's the "official end of summer" for those of us who grew up in ER. It's a celebration of the little town on the big lake.

Summer means camping for many and lots of awesome campfires. S'mores roasted or fried over a campfire made with graham crackers and Hershey's bars and a marshmallow. The classic summer treat.

And dominoes.

And Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

And sunsets.

And baseball. Hot dogs. Apple pie. and Chevrolet.

And the tips to Detroit.
