Lori Goes on a Concert Trip

People are tight, pushing, shoving, and generally rocking out to the music. That doesn't ever sound good to her. But, last Friday she decided she would check out Shooter Jennings and the .357s at the Machine Shop in Flint, Mich.

"I can honestly say this is the first concert I've ever attended where I didn't even know one song," she said prior to the show. She repeated the claim afterward.

I can also say that Shooter played 16 songs — seven I knew. The other were nine new ones from his (possibly–titled) Black Ribbons album. It's due later in the year. Ted Russell Kamp, his bassist, told me they're shopping the LP to record labels right now. In March the band released a greatest his collection to complete their contract with Universal.

We arrived back in Vestaburg around 3 a.m. She slept most of the way. I think she had a good time. I know I did. Maybe she'll come along on some more crazy rock 'n' roll trips.
