Sun Setting in Red Rock Canyon
I enjoyed a short mini–vacation to Las Vegas during the week–end. In addition to hanging out on the Strip, watching people, and checking out some Vegas sites, we enjoyed a trip out to Red Rock Canyon.
Red Rock Canyon is a neat place, with lots of vivid mountains, crevices, valleys, and hiking trails. We didn't hike, but watched some people finish up their hikes. We also watched some kids climbing rocks without any safety equipment. I couldn't believe their exploits. It looked like they were egging on one other member of their crew, who finally started climbing.
I stood out on the edge of a large rock (it was windy) and I couldn't wait to get back down. You can see the fear in my eyes! The picture didn't snap as quickly as I hoped, so you can actually tell I'm ready to jump down ...
The picture I've included with this entry is of the sun setting over the mountains. I thought it came out vivid, with several interesting layers. You can check out some other pictures on Flickr (just click on the pic) but I'll probably post a couple more (In–n–Out, UNLV, people, etc.).
