Tigers Replace Renteria

The Tigers acquired Jack Wilson from the Pirates for undisclosed players. Wilson is somewhat cheaper than Renteria, but should be a decent short stop for the Tigers — who have been trying to acquire him for a couple of years now.

Wilson is probably the new modern short stop — more similar to the Alan Trammell style of the '80s than the Alex Rodriguez style of the '90s — decent hitter, good fielder, tough player.
