Carnival in Elk Rapids (Harbor Days has come and gone)
Just like magic, Harbor Days disappeared sometime after the last firework cracked on Saturday night. By early Sunday morning, the trash was picked up and the city was almost back to normal. You don't realize how many port–a–potties there are around the town until you see them hauled away ...
Harbor Days, as usual, was a lot of fun. There's a great deal to do, but I spent a lot of time working on different shots with my new Nikon D60. I thought the above carnival shot was pretty cool. You can click on it and it will take you to the photo at Flickr. Once, there, you can check out all of my Harbor Days pics I uploaded. I have some more that I'll probably add later.
Scott Kelby, a photographer I admire, recommends using a tri–pod for photographs. I didn't think a tri–pod would make that much difference, but I am more than pleased with the results. Tri–pod pics are so much sharper. I'm sold on it now!
