Someone else touting Gore
Mark Tomasik: Don’t discount Gore-led ticket
“If it (the nomination process) goes into the convention, don’t be surprised if someone different is at the top of the ticket,” Mahoney said.
A compromise candidate could be someone such as former vice president Al Gore, Mahoney said last week during a meeting with this news organization’s editorial board.

This is something I wish I had blogged about now. I've told some friends that the most likely Democratic candidate for President—if they really want to win—is Al Gore. I'm not a fan of Gore's by any means. Back in the '80s I was the youngest person to buy his wife Tipper's seminal rock 'n' roll lambasting book Raising PG Kids in an X–Rated Society. A terrible, misguided, misinformed book, by the way, but I digress. Gore has a great following in the United States right now with his misguided, misinformed lambasting of the weather system (to find something to focus on, anyway).
"Green," as in "organic, natural, recycling, reusing ..." is the current "It" thing. And it should be. People need to recycle and reuse more. Much more. So, while Kermit's color is the right color right now, Gore may be able to weasel in and run for President. I told some friends this one night and they said I was crazy.
Things are shaping up perfectly, though. People can't decide between Rodham or Obama, Obama or Rodham. Yadda, yadda, yadda ... Suddenly, a high ranking Democrat decides the only answer is to "convince" (yeah, uh huh) Al Gore to get off the lecture circuit and stop making mockumentaries ...AND RUN FOR PRESIDENT. He would be a late candidate and give John McCain a great run for the White House.
Stay tuned ... it's heating up.
Oh, and I think Obama would be his running mate, not Bill's wife.
