Brandon Inge
Brandon Inge is quickly alienating everyone in Detroit. He's become a whiner, a baby. He's sad because Pudge Rodriguez came in in '04 and displaced Brandon. Now that Pudge's career may be winding down, Inge is being asked to catch. He's making a big deal about it. There are several things that could happen.
1) Inge could accept that catching and hitting .250 with 15 home runs and 75 runs batted in would ensure he would probably be an all–star and land a $10 million pay day.
2) Inge could complain, whine, and stomp his feet right out of town. The poetic justice thing to see happen would to see him go to either of the Tigers Major League/Minor League teams, the Washington Nationals or the Tampa Bay Rays.
3) Inge could be dealt to a contender like the Dodgers or Cubs, but that's doubtful. I have to imagine that teams are wary of the foot stompin'.
4) Inge could be released, make his $19 million, and end up nowhere like former teammate and longtime Tiger, Bobby Higginson.
5) Inge could settle in, become a positive member of the team, and sip champagne in October/November. No, I don't see him settling in. He's already poured gasoline on several bridges and probably lit a few matches. Burn 'em all before you head out of town, BI. Burn 'em all.
The Tigers blogosphere has taken notice, as well.
