Reader's Digest
Ever since I was quite young, I've enjoyed reading Reader's Digest. I especially liked the comedy pieces included in each issue: Life in these United States, Humor in Uniform, All in a Day's Work, etc. I don't remember when I read my first issue, but I remember laughing out loud. The comedy material is such that anyone can understand and appreciate it for the most part. I even subscribed for a few years. The unusual factor, though, is that I could rarely remember anything I read in the Digest. Does anyone else experience something similar? I even read the articles, but it was always the "funny" pieces that I liked.
Example from the Web site:
Heavy snow had buried my van in our driveway. My husband, Scott, dug around the wheels, rocked the van back and forth and finally pushed me free. I was on the road when I heard an odd noise. I got on my cell and called home. "Thank God you answered," I said when Scott picked up. "There's this alarming sound coming under the van. For a moment I thought I was dragging you down the highway."
"And you didn't stop?"
