Kid Rock in Grand Rapids
Kid Rock and his special guests put on a great show in Grand Rapids, Mich., last night. His energy level was present and he fed off of the great crowd. He's a Michigan boy and the crowd could handle that.
He sang some old stuff, played a lot of new stuff, and jammed with Rev Run (of Run DMC fame) and Peter Wolf (former J. Geils Band frontman). Peter Wolf wowed the crowd with the introduction to "Musta Got Lost" and had everyone singing along on "Centerfold" (side note: can you believe that song is 25 years old?).
Overall, the show lasted for three hours. Rock gave the crowd a short break, he called it an intermission. After the break, the band came out jammin' again.
I would expect that "All Summer Long" will become an anthem of sort as summer arrives. It's a catchy tune (it combines "Werewolves of London" and "Sweet Home Alabama")with music that people are already familiar with; anyway, the crowd really seemed to get into that song last night.
Luckily, there are no Waffle Houses in Grand Rapids, so Kid couldn't get into a jam.
