Stumped!
I have spent a great deal of time the last two days (not to mention time earlier in the week) trying to get rid of the Trojan horse Generic9.AGXO from a Dell Dimension 2400 computer. The computer is used primarily by Courtney and sometimes Amber, but others have used it recently, too. It started acting really strange and doing some funny things like sending several thousand messages a day.
I've used Spy Sweeper, AdAware, Spybot, CC Cleaner, AVG 7.5, Trend Micro Hijack This, Trend Micro Anti–Spyware, among others. I have located the file in the computer at C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\yej15.sys and I CANNOT DELETE IT. I have battled with spyware/malware in the past, but haven't been beaten like this one. I've read forums, tried different approaches, and still cannot get rid of it.

I have spent a couple hours on this virus. I got it removed.
Here is how: I took the hard drive out and put it into an external connection on another machine. I ran AVG from the other computer and it detected and removed it off the external hard drive.
