Found a book one day
I don't remember the first time I went book shopping at the Traverse City Goodwill Store. I know it was at its original location near what used to be the Cherryland Mall. I originally went there because I (used to) collect records and Goodwill seemed to have not only rare ones, but good ones, too. I once found a rare Billy Joel Cold Spring Harbor album. One day, though, I started looking at the books and it was like a treasure chest. Through high school and college, I visited many times and built a good library.
Whenever I get "up north," I stop into the new (& deluxe) location to book shop. Recently, I've had a class in TC and had the opportunity to stop twice. I found some great books, but the other day I found a book by Seth Godin and Jay Levinson called Get What You Deserve. It was written in 1997, so I thought I would check it out. It's an original hard cover and in excellent shape. I decided to read a bit of it last night, and it's a great book. Many of Seth's early ideas can be found in the book.
Strangely, I have many of Godin's books, but I hadn't heard of this one. You never know what you'll find when you go book shopping at Goodwill. Or Barnes & Noble. Or Amazon.
