The Lions

No championship for 50 years!

No organization in the world is run worse than the Detroit Lions football club. The team is so poorly run and executed that one cannot help but root against them. Matt Millen has made a full comedy out of a long–running joke. He's almost created something like an episode of Seinfeld (really nothing?) where Jerry starts things out with his stand–up routine and it turns into a full 22 minutes of hilarity.

When Millen took over the team, they were okay, maybe even on the upswing. Gary Moeller was the coach and had recovered nicely from his incident in Dearborn when he was the head coach at the University in Ann Arbor. Anyway, the new general manager, Millen, wanted his own man, Steve Mariucci.

Mr. Millen, from the Web.

So, he hired one of his employees, Marty Mornhinweg for the 2001–2002 seasons. Those were both disasters. He was followed by the real mccoy, Steve Mariucci from 2003–2005. Those seasons, too, were terribly. Dick Jauron followed to close out the 2005 season. Rod Marinelli is the coach now. I don't know who will coach next season, probably not him or his son–in–law the defensive coordinator.

What has happened this season is pitiful. The team is terrible. There are bloggers, paid columnists, and radio hosts lambasting the team. Millen began blowing the team up several years ago and they're worse now than they were then. Now, it's time to get rid of everyone and start over right. At least Miami had something to shoot for this season — not ending up as the only team ever with an undefeated season and and all–defeated season ...

FIRE MILLEN!
