The Mets in Lakeland

Last fall we booed him and made fun of Yankees fans wearing Chef ("Sheff") Hats

Today, we're off to see the New York Mets visit the Tigers. Remember, this is the match-up we expected in the World Series last year. Well, we didn't expect it before the season, but once we were down to the final four teams, this combination made the most sense. It didn't happen. A team from St. Louis ended up playing for the National League. We all know how that turned out!

We're just about to leave. Hopefully, we'll get there in time to see the players arriving. It's a split-squad game, so Jim Leyland is taking several players to Clearwater to play the Phillies. Mike Maroth is pitching today, so hopefully I can get him to sign a picture or two. He's usually a generous signer.

It's been a whirlwind of activities.
