The Jetblue Phenomena

Last week, Jetblue Airlines took a hit like none other in the history of corporate responsibility. Prior to the events that occurred last week, I wanted to fly Jetblue. The airline doesn't fly in Michigan, though. Writer/marketer/guru Seth Godin has written excellent things about the company during the last several years. They've been mythical to those of us who cannot fly them.

I'll write more about this later, but I think the whole Jetblue incident is a modern (marketing) phenomenon. Ten, fifteen years ago, we wouldn't have heard much about this incident. Before the Internet, the MEDIA controlled all information that made its way to us. We didn't have access to vast amounts of American/World information. Today, we do. The Net allows us unbelievable access. We actually are our own editors/publishers.

All you have to do is check out Jetblue Hostage and you know what I mean. Today, we control information. And it feels good.
