Michigan is Amazing

Check out the picture of the day for October 10, 2006, on Michigan is Amazing.

When I took the picture, I kind of envisioned a book cover.

Maybe a cover to the book A Reason To Roar: One Fan's Journey (from Kansas City to the World Series). Of course, it's not only been one fan's journey. Many of you out there have enjoyed the ride. It's been a great ride -- even you Yankee lovers who read this blog would have to agree! I'm just hoping that the Fox Theater changes the sign two more times. Oops, we're getting ahead of ourselves here ...

It was October 4, 2005, when the face of the organization changed. That's the day that Jim Leyland was introduced as the new manager of the Tigers. In his press conference, he claimed that he didn't know anything about the team. Well, today, he recanted: he said he didn't know what would make them tick and that that was really the key factor. He said that he knew the players and such ... just not who they were. I'll link to the article when I find it again. It's pretty telling!

"Life a journey, not a destination." I don't know who originally said that, or wrote it, but he/she was right on!
