Education is what we do ...
Our teachers at Central Montcalm reported back to work today. We had our first day of professional development today and will have another solid day tomorrow. The professional development currently consists of reviewing new curriculum developments in English Language Arts and mathematics, a technology update (teachers' Apples were upgraded and PowerSchool was tweaked), and some other smaller activities. Wednesday is a "work day" and our first staff meeting of the year.
Some fun activities mix in the middle though: tomorrow night, Sheridan Elementary School will host our "welcome back" Open House, complete with a hot dog dinner. Wednesday morning, the school district will host a "welcome back" breakfast for all staff, former staff, board members, etc. It's an exciting time to catch up with the people you haven't seen in a while.
In the past couple of weeks, I have worked on some district-level publications. Last Friday, The Central Issue should have arrived in people's mail boxes. Friday and today I put a great deal of time into our annual report. It should be finished up by Wednesday afternoon, so it can be posted on our web site by next Tuesday morning (Sept. 5).
I don't know about you, but it sure does seem like summers disappear in a blur ...

What the heck is "a summer"...ohhhh....yeah, I know...I kind of remember...ha! Well, I'm glad everyone is "back", cause I missed all the action...it is one of the "good things" that come with the start of another school year!
