Tigers Get Out of Oakland With a Win

The Tigers were able to get out of Oakland, Calif., with a victory today, beating the Athletics 10-4.

The pitcher known as The Gambler, The Professor, and the Cameraman Pusher, Mr. Kenny Rogers only pitched into the sixth inning, but it was enough to net him his 11th win of the season. I guess the reason he is the ace of the staff is because he can stop these mini-losing streaks.

The hitting came alive today to the tune of 10 runs. That's good to see, because the past couple of days have been hard on us Tiger fans -- the longterm fans and the "newbies." Newbies fall into two categories: 1) truly a newbie, never having been a Tigers fan because they're too young to remember '84 and 2) a fan who has been on hiatus since 1994 or so.

To all the newbies ... It's great to have you onboard. For the rest of us (yeah, you other three people know who I'm talking about even if you're not reading this blog!) this is a LONG time comin'! Let's continue to enjoy the march toward October.

You Better Believe It!
