The Other Jones

I don't drink pop (soda) any more. This probably disappoints the accountants at Mountain Dew. Okay, occasionally, I'll have a Jones M.F. Grape. It's actually better than Grape Crush, which is hard to top. But, anyway, I would like to get one of my pictures (surprise, surprise) on a bottle of Jones Soda. Several years ago, a student at Clarkston High School took a snapshot of my Grandpa that ended up on a bottle There's a story that goes with the first bottle sighting, but I'll save that for another day.

If you don't know about Jones, the labels are all created with submitted photos. And, their packaging is purposely erratic, meaning that in one case, there may only be one of a certain label. Well, in '00, when my Grandpa was on a bottle, I searched, searched, and searched. I went to every single store in about a 50 mile radius (and then some) looking and seeking. I was able to find 37 bottles of Jones with my Grandpa. If you think that sounds a bit obsessive or compulsive, you may be right.

Anyway, consider going HERE and voting and e-mailing and helping one of my pics end up on a bottle. I would really be excited to walk into 7-11 and be like, "Whoa! Check this out ...." It's one of those "be there" things, I think. Anyhow, you can then click "back to the gallery" and type in Heitmeyer and vote for the labels you think are the best.
