"You always kind of hold your breath on that one. You want something good to happen because Mom and Dad, relatives, girlfriend, everybody's there. You never know how that's going to work out. Sometimes that puts extra pressure on a kid. Other times they respond like Justin did tonight. I thought he made good pitches."

Verlander showed what kind of pitcher he is. I didn't think he had his best stuff because of the blister on his finger. He just overpowered the Oriole hitters.
