Don't you think it's interesting that the same people who want instant discipline for students who do something they perceive as wrong are the same people who believe that "they" deserve special treatment when "they" do something wrong?

How about the folks who talk constantly during a PD session or staff meeting? They're the same ones who send kids out right away when they talk during a lecture ...

The one that gets me most is when a teacher sends out a kid for not having a pencil, then deducts 10 points from a quiz that the student scores 100% on ... but had to borrow something to write with ...

We say we want "authentic grades" but so much goes into a "grade" that authenticity is out the window ... Maybe grades should be out the window ... Assessment doesn't have to be A-B-C-D-and E ...
