Are Customers Always Right?
I ran into a great analogy that I wanted to blog about. I mean, it was fantastic. It made a lot of sense. I should have written it down, because when I think of it in a day or two, it will suddenly have lost its luster.
Ah, but I'll share a darn good analogy, anyway.
Today, we were talking about education reform; you know, the transition from one delivery system to another. Yea, yea, you say, what does that mean. Someone mentioned how we are getting a lot of input from different stakeholders.
It made me think of a Henry Ford saying:
“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”
Doesn't that make sense?
Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, has been known to believe that his customers don't know what they want until he gives it to them ...
(Come to think of it, didn't Ford Motor Company recently release a pretty fast horse?)
