Another Icy Day in the Land of Montcalm

Last night, the phone rang. It was a friend trying to find information on the Michigan High School Athletic Association Web site about becoming a registered official. I looked at the site, made a suggestion, and he found what he was looking for. We talked about a few things and then, as he was hanging up, said, "Hey, I hope you have school tomorrow. You don't want to be going in July again." I laughed and said, "I don't think there's any doubt we'll have school."

After watching Desperate Housewives, I told Lori, I better go get my phone in case we get a call. She said, "I don't think there'll be any problem."

At 5:20, the phone rang. "Two hour delay."

I made a couple calls, some coffee, and went back to bed for a few minutes.

6 a.m.: Lori's alarm blares, the phone rings: "Upgraded to cancelled."

This is the fifth day. Roads are icy.

I guess Steve should have mentioned August ...
