Bill Parcells Is Already A Genius, But What If ...
Okay, okay ... this is just a crazy idea ....
Bill Parcells is a great coach and, it's clearly becoming obvious, a great personnel man.
He could come to Detroit as the President/General Manager/Head Coach and turn things around in one year.
Consider:
• William Clay Ford would not get involved. He would let Parcell's do his thing. His thing being run a tight ship, care less what anyone things, bring in his hoods who respond to his coaching, and WIN.
• The Lions have at least two first round picks: their own and the Cowboys'. That's two quick upgrades right there; neither team made the playoffs, so they'll be decent picks.
• Detroit understands short term coaches, e.g. Larry Brown. Parcells would be in Detroit three, maybe four years. He might only coach for one or two because he seems to get bored once he has things figured out.
• Would he come to Detroit? WHY NOT! Miami is way too hot and the team already turned it around. Parcells could surround himself with a great staff and turn things around. He would be viewed as a FOOTBALL GOD in Detroit Rock City and would have carte blanche to do things his way.
Mr. Ford, SHOW HIM THE MONEY!
