McDonald's, Tractors, and a Slow Ride
Courtney's volleyball team played in a tournament at Ovid–Elsie yesterday. After the second round of pool play, I figured I could journey ten miles to Owosso and be back to the school for the final round of pool play.
I drove into Owosso, went to McDonald's and ordered a Mocha. I drove through the drive thru, the person said, "We have to fill the beans. Can you please pull ahead?" I figured filling the beans would be quick process.
About seven or eight minutes later, "Sir, our machine is broken. Here's a refund. Sorry. Can we get you anything else?"
"Does your coffee machine work?"
"Sure, what can I get you?"
"Just a regular large coffee, please."
"Cream or sugar?"
"No, thanks."
With my hot (they warn you now, you know) coffee, I rolled out. I decided to drive through Owosso since I'd never been there for too long, turn around, and head back. Well, wouldn't you know it, two blocks down the road sat a Tim Hortons. They have the best coffee and donuts in the world. The whole world. And they're a Canadian company.
So I pulled into Tim Hortons ... no, I didn't. I thoght about it.
I drove down, turned around, and headed back. Remember, I said it takes 10 minutes to get to Owosso from Ovid–Elsie High School. Well, following two really long tractors pulling really long trailers and being about the eighth car in a long line ... takes about 20 minutes. I missed the final game of pool play, but did get to watch them compete in the gold bracket for the championship. The did not win.
I guess I should have gone to Tim Hortons.
Even if you hate the Red Sox like I do, the Boston Creme Donut and hot, 20–minute fresh cup of coffee at Timmy's cannot be beaten!
