I–Rod, Pudge, Ivan ...

Peter Abraham, who writes for the Journal News in New York, offers the following:

Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez essentially became a part-time player. Andy Pettitte pitched to him once then demanded that Jose Molina catch his remaining starts. Mike Mussina also stuck with Molina.

Rodriguez was left with the rest of the rotation, a crew of irregulars that has included Darrell Rasner, Sidney Ponson, Carl Pavano, Dan Giese and Ian Kennedy. Rodriguez also has been a disappointment at the plate, hitting .222 with three RBI.

Sounds eerily similar to the guy the Tigers shipped away. And he's going to have trouble getting signed, too, with a Type A status as a free agent ...
