Carl Crawford, it's your turn to shine!
For the first time in 102 years, both Chicago Major League Baseball teams are in the playoffs during the same postseason. The White Sox just beat the Minnesota Twins 1–0 in a one–game playoff to determine the American League Central Champions; many in the media predicted that the ALC would come down to a battle between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians. Personally, I rooted for the Win Twins today because they are a low–revenue and low–spending club; the Twins' owner is notoriously cheap but each year they seem to battle.
The Chicago White Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Angels of Aneheim, and Boston Red Sox are representing the American League; the Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Dodgers are representing the National League. How about it ... two Chicago teams, two Los Angeles teams, a couple East Coast teams, a rust belt club, and an upstart team from St. Petersburg, Florida, who call themselves the Tampa Bay Rays. Really, they took the "Devil" out of the Rays and look what happened!
I think the best thing that could happen for baseball would be a seven–game World Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Rays. It's not all about how much you spend, just ask the three highest paid clubs: the Yankees, Tigers, and Mets ...
