Fillet–o–Friday

Who can believe this weather? It's like 1981 all over again! Back when the sides of roads were piled high with 10' high drifts. Winter mattered back then. The last several years, winters have been mild. I remember going to the Frozen Cherry Festival in Traverse City, Mich., back in 1981 or 1982. The bay actually froze back then and the celebration was held on the ice. I believe the city tried to hold the FCF for a few more years, but the bay quit freezing over several year ago. Anyhow, it's snowing out right now and we're supposed to get about 5" of snow today.

The Tigers have tradition! Jim Leyland's focus is to get them to the Classic in the Fall. All signs point to a great season for the Detroit Nine. I've blogged about it before, but things just "feel good." Over at Jimmy Leyland's Boys, I hope to blog every day throughout the season, journaling the season as a fan. In '84, I purchased every copy of the Detroit News throughout the season. A great season if ever there was one!

Semi–pro is somewhat a waste of time but worth the price of admission. If the price of admission is FREE. Last night some friends and I attended opening night of the new movie Semi–pro, a fictional account of the defunct Flint Tropics American Basketball Association team. It had its funny moments, but overall it wasn't much. Thanks to Steve for the invite. And the Huge Show for providing the tix. As I left the movie, I thought it was all right. As I contemplated the movie during my morning walk today, I realized reality: it was okay — a video rental at worst!

Have a great Friday and wonderful week–end. Thanks for tuning in ...
