What a difference a year makes

It was October 22, 2006, and I stood in the 34° "heat" in Comerica Park, wondering what would possess me to think going to a World Series game in weather colder than the SuperBowl was in February .... Oh yeah, it was my beloved Detroit Tigers and I was only able to scrounge one ticket. [Side note: I did have four tickets for game seven, which never happened ...] It was so cold and I was so bundled and I still froze.

Jump ahead one year .... The Tigers, well, they finished up their season three weeks ago. Not too long before the Yankees finished theirs, actually. But, I drove down to the Detroit area yesterday, actually Clarkston, Mich. Well, a bank in Clarkston at about 1 p.m. flashed 80° on the sign.

Later in the day, Ken said, "Wow, it's the middle of October and it's shorts weather."

What a difference one year makes. What else is drastically different in your life from one year ago?

October isn't a good month, a lot of birthdays, deaths, and anniversaries! A lot of changes happen in our lives in the month of October, doesn't matter what year!

Have a good day everybody!

Leaves change, lives change - one thing we can count on in life is change. What cannot kill us can only make us stronger!
