Na Na Hey Hey Good–bye (Ordóñez no hero in Cleveland, '07)

Do you remember the dudes on the corner on the way to the CoPa last October who had the broom on Saturday, October 14? The day we sent the Oakland Athletics packing when Magglio Ordóñez hit that gigantic shot into the night?

I only hope that some of the Savage fans remembered a Libman today as they headed down to the Jake to take in some afternoon baseball action. It was ugly, especially since the Tigers jumped out to a 5–2 lead Monday night.

Imagine if Kenny Rogers would have come out for the eighth inning and pitched another nine pitch frame. We talk of tipping points — which, of course, are now moot.

Just think, at least their arms won't be "tired from pitching so far into October" again this year. As they've said in New York since Luis Gonzalez knocked that little single into center field, "THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR."

It's almost freaky how quickly Chris Shelton faded from view in "The D."
