Yesterday was a fun time in Detroit.

Ken and I drove down to Clarkston and met up with my parents and Uncle John, then we headed down to Tiger Stadium.

Yeah, Tiger Stadium. We ignored the exit to the Fox complex and drove off the ramp at Rosa Parks Blvd. Rumor a few weeks ago suggested that Sept. 22 and 23 would be the last time you could walk through Tiger Stadium. It wasn't the case.

We then headed to Comerica Park, where we enjoyed a Tigers victory.

Each year on Sept. 23 or the nearest logical home game, we head down. It was Sept. 23, 2005, when my Grandpa and I went to our last Tiger game together. He was 90 and received the tickets as a gift at his 90th birthday celebration in August.

I'll tell the whole story sometime, but I was out mowing the lawn when Grandpa called and wanted me to go to the ball game with him with the tickets that were a gift. He said we could do it during '05 or wait until the next season.

It was a fun night. The Tigers — they didn't win — were entertaining and it was great to be there with Grandpa. Stay tuned for more on Rick's Writing Again!
