I saw that quote this morning and thought the same thing. I went to a baseball/softball coaching clinic in Florida about 15 years ago. Mike Martin, then the baseball coach at Florida State, made a comment that has stayed with me. "When a player makes a mistake in a game it is my fault as a coach, I did prepare them well enough."
