America's Rock and Roller Coast or "I really don't know"

Prelude to true frustration
At one point, several of us were trying to check into our cabins which were guaranteed at 4 p.m. A few of us had been there two other times during the day and were told to "come back in a little while," it'll be ready.
At 4 o'clock, we were there, trying to check in. The Cedar Point employees were blaming the housekeeping staff for not getting the rooms cleaned on time. We made some valid points about the customer keeping his/her guarantee or being charged full–price and so on and so forth. We were concerned about getting the run–around, which it felt like we were getting.
Finally, around 5 p.m., we asked one of the employee this question. Actually, a gentleman from Flint, Mich., asked: "Ryan, what exactly does guarantee mean?"
He looked at us, serious as a heart–attack and said, "I really don't know."
