Ernie Harwell
I blogged not too long ago about Mr. Harwell's birthday. He's 89. This photo was taken sometime ago at a wonderful place called Tiger Stadium. It's a neat place in downtown Detroit, near the corner of Michigan and Trumbull. In fact, it is The Corner of Michigan and Trumbull. Wow, when you think about it, the Tigers truly have some great tradition. Many excellent men have worn the Old English D over their heart! Perhaps Mr. Harwell never wore the jersey, but he is as Detroit as Al Kaline, Alan Trammell, and Kirk Gibson. The voice of the Tigers. The Voice.
