#23/#22

Anyone who knows me knows that I think Kirk Gibson played the game with the right amount of intensity. Ironically, this run he scored (over Pat Borders) happened about two weeks before he hung up his cleats as a player. I remember how cool it was to be at the game in '93 when he returned as a player and how cool it was the different times I met him. I asked him to sign a print of the above photograph at the Tigers Caravan in Traverse City in 2003. When he looked at the picture, he turned to Bobby Higginson and said, "There it is, man. The eye on the prize." I was shaking. He had barely said anything to anyone else in line, but he was commenting on my picture. It made my day. The next time I shook like that in excitement: two Saturdays ago when the Tigers beat the Yankees. I reckon I have Tiger Fever. Catch it!
