The Zumaya Factor

Last night after The Pop Cap won big at the Casino playing poker, we stood and watched a bit of the Tigers-Angels game. Cap looked at Can, Duke, and me and said, "Okay, guys, who IS your Tiger?"

Duke didn't have an answer, I wasn't allowed to answer, and the Can said that Zumaya was his ... He could be right -- without Zgas (or Zoom Zoom), where would our middle inning relief be? Well, the dude throws 102 regularly and he's on a roll. There's an article in the Freep today and the most-quoted person is the 21-year old who has been on the team all season (not the new 21-year old).

All right, all right, you all know who my Tiger is. He was brought in last fall to bring a different approach in his role.

Really, though, these guys appear to be getting the magic back. Did we not realize August was going to be tough all season? Hey, 13-16 in that month ... that ain't bad (as Sparky Anderson might say).
