Tigers take the series from the Sox
I was not at today's game, but Tom Hanks and Ron Howard were. Hanks even had a Tigers cap on. Makes me think of Tom Selleck back in the Tigers' glory days (and Selleck's, as well).
Again, the Motown maulers came from behind to win the game. Kenny Rogers pitched well, but earned a no decision. The ESPN announcers then had the chance to RAVE about Joel Zumaya, who struck out the final a couple batters in AWESOME fashion. Orel Hersheiser even made the comment, "I want to stand up and cheer ..." in talking about the excitement generated by Zumaya and the SELL-OUT crowd at Comerica.
The Oakland Athletics come to town for a three-game week-end series now. The Tigers own a 5-1/2 game lead in the Central Division. Don't look back, boys, but the Minnesota Twins (READ: PITCHING) are make a serious run and are only 9-1/2 games back ...
Thanks for tuning in!!!
