The All-Star Break Has Arrived ...

At the All-Star Break, the Tigers are 59-29 and in first place in the American League Central. Today, the Tigers lost to the Seattle Mariners, 3-2. The White Sox, currently 2.5 games out in second place, are right now in the bottom of the 15th inning in a battle with the American League East leader, the Boston Red Sox. You already know my two favorite teams are the Tigers and "whoever is playing the White Sox." Go BoSox!!!

In '84, the Tigers went into the All-Star break with a loss to the Texas Rangers and future Tiger Frank Tanana. The Tigers record at the break: 57-27. They would win 63 games before losing for the 29th time. There are many parallels between the two clubs ('84 and '06). Let's hope the Tigers continue their run in the second half.

Nate "Dog" Robertson pitched really well today, but ended up taking the loss. I guess he should have chewed a little more gum .... Most of Major League Baseball is off for a few days for the All-Star break. It kind of makes being an All-Star caliber player kind of rough because YOU DON'T GET A BREAK!
