Polanco
I don't know where Ugeth Urbina is these days, but the last I knew he was in jail in Venezuela. He was allegedly involved in a situation involving some gang warfare in his homeland. He was detained and the last I knew, he was still incarcerated.
Urbina was a Detroit Tiger until last season when he was dealt to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for a utility infielder, Placido Polanco. Polanco quickly became the Tigers second basemen and probably will be for a long time.
He just laid down an awesome sacrifice bunt to move runners to second and third. The next batter, Pudge Rodriguez was intentionally walked. Magglio Ordonez then grounded out, knocking in the runner Polanco moved to third.
The Tigers lead 3-1. Let's sweep the Royals!

Just a note to not only tell you that I am following your blog, but also to add to Polanco's value. A couple of games ago Polanco made a play usually reserved for a show off middle infielder. However, Polanco knew the only way to get the out at second base was to flip the ball blindly over his head to a covering Guillen. These Tigers are different, I'm not old enough to revisit memories of the '84 Tigers, I was three that summer. In the early 90's (93 I think) they flirted with a playoff spot. This team plays defense and pitches as well as it hits. I used to flip the channel to just watch the Tigers bat each inning. Now I am more comfortable watching an inning of defense than offense. I am so excited for the remainder of this season! Rick, keep the updates coming, they are being read!
