That is indeed the legendary Detroit Tigers announcer, Ernie Harwell. And, in the background, yes ... that is certainly George "Sparky" Anderson, legendary Tigers manager.
Ernie was kind enough to smile for a couple of pictures and someplace I have a signed program by Mr. Harwell.
Thank you, Mr. Harwell, for your energy, enthusiasm, and everlasting love of the Baseball Club of Detroit.
You were the best! (And probably still would be!)
(And Mr. Anderson, you were a pretty good manager, yourself!)
