Curriculum as the district's backbone

The State of Michigan has developed the Michigan Curriculum Framework (PDF VERSION) and it includes the four core areas; however, the State has also developed standards and benchmarks for all other areas, except foreign languages.

The Grade Level Content Expecations can help, as well; Mi-Climb, a clarification tool for the curriculum framework; and many other avenues are available. Curriculum is the backbone of a good school. Learn your curriculum and teach it.

There is no excuse not to teach the curriculum. Gone are the days of a favorite dinasaur unit.
