Awesome 1-0 Win

Okay, I'll be the first to admit that the Tigers won the game because of the longball. However, they played a solid game: Maroth pitched well, as did Zumaya and F-rod ; the defense was solid again; they laid down a perfect bunt in the ninth inning.

Maroth looked good. Hopefully this won't be his best start of the year. He continues to pitch pretty well against the Tribe and they look like they'll be the most important competition this year. Zumaya looks like an All-Star so far and Fernando Rodney has pitched very well. Polanco laid down a nice bunt to advance Granderson in the ninth inning (after a missed call by the ump ...).

If they win tomorrow, the Tigers will win a series against the Indians -- the team many are predicting to win the AL Central and possibly the World Series. This is a key time for the Tigers and today they looked good. If they continue to win the one-run games ... they're going to do well in 2006.
