The day after I thought it was a classic. Now - no - the seesaw of it all was because of mistakes, mainly. That's not "great." Tigers had the game won three times and gave it away.

The better team made the playoffs.

Still - what I ask of the Tigers is that they entertain me. They did. We got a playoff game out of it. Now I can sleep more in October than I might have!

Watching ZGrink on Fox right now vs. Twins.

Twins are executing and peaking now. Like Tigers earlier in year when they won 7 in a row.

I don't believe in passion or wanting to win. Emotion even gets in the way sometimes. Twins play like pros and RonG is real mellow, like Kelly before him. Execution is everything. We knew the Tigers weren't a GREAT team. They'd be third in any other div.

I believe. Huge win today. Nate is back! That's big. Bondo back, and we've got THE best rotation, but Bondo's only in relief for the rest of this year. Look out, 2010, seriously.

But, even if they don't somehow make it to playoffs, they've entertained me all summer, and played important games in September. That's actually all I ask, though I know it sounds a little communist or something.

Took me a while to figure out where to go with my thoughts. Amber, Lori, and I were talking about it the other day and Amber said, "You'll probably cry when you find out." I said, "I almost am right now." I can't watch his final broadcast (have it taped someplace) because it's quite emotional. I guess when you have something important to say, you can say it without any tears!

Before he died Warren Zevon ("Werewolves of London") said, "Enjoy every sandwich." So I try to enjoy the ride - baseball is back in Detroit and the boys are competitive. Any given night they have a good chance to win. BUT: the playoffs will be a sweet extra. After the DTV changeover we've been without tv since we were on rabbit ears and live too far from most towers (da UP, eh). We just ordered cable so we can watch the playoffs. Did the same in 06 and plastered the living room walls with Tigers, ate ball park franks and drank Vernors. My poor "Amish" children are psyched we get cable for a couple of months. Go Tigers!
